Based on the award winning iPro and MAZ4S, the new PRO R1 is an exciting new addition to the Maxxis range of high performance tyres.
It is designed to deliver enhanced wet and dry performance, better fuel economy and longer life as well as a quiet ride. A reinforced steel belt and jointless spiral-wrapped nylon cap provide greater high speed stability, better handling and increased tyre life, while the high tension ply cord also boosts stability and the slimline bead filler makes for a controlled ride. Maxxis's newly developed 'Ultra R' rubber and nano dispersed SiO2 combine to produce a highly reinforced silica tread compound which delivers excellent wet grip and the addition of other special chemicals improves both rolling resistance and fuel consumption. Thanks to the multi-pitch block design, which incorporates a raised centre section, pattern vibration and frequency are reduced, resulting in low noise and improved handling and performance. The jointless spiral-wound bead wire gives added strength and reliability and the high hardness sidewall compound reinforces rigidity to aid handling performance.
